Here is an example of on-line post graduate work in the field of ethnography. There are many interesting developments in on-line ethnography.

Lines for a Virtual T[y/o]pography [Dissertation Materials: Matthew G. Kirschenbaum]
This work by Matt Kirschenbaum was on of the first on-line dissertations to be awarded a PhD. Matt was supervised by Professor John Unsworth, the director of the Institute of Advanced Technology in the Humanities at the University of Virginia. Matt's work retains and advances some of the integrity of the academic qualification, but perhaps does not push the boundaries of the technology enough.

Adventures in CyberSound: Main Index

Here is a project from Russell Naughton about radio and the Internet.

The Flight of Ducks, an online documentary about Australian cultural memory, by Simon Pockley
Flight of Ducks by Simon Pockley of Melbourne, was one of the first web-based multimedia projects anywhere in the world to be accepted as the major component of a PhD dissertation.. This project was totally hand coded (at a time when HTML editors were rare), utilises best-practice meta-data standards, and has some innovative frameworks for interpretation of the archival material.
