This is a picture of my German friend Emu outside of one of the housing commission towers over the road. Large parts of Fitzroy were bulldozed in the late 1960s to make way for these 'modern high rises'. The small workers cottages (like the one that I live in below) were pulled down in the name of 'slum clearance'. The house that I live in is possible the smallest house in Fitzroy (1999).
